AGR TV needs comedy

Editors, Asheville Global Report, I read with interest today's editorial about your opportunity to reach a national audience on the Free Speech TV network. As in all new TV shows, you will have a very small window to either succeed or fail. However, to succeed on TV you must find a way to be "entertaining" because TV is "entertainment" to the vast majority of the audience. Presenting "accurate information–no matter how painful" alone has no chance of succeeding with a national audience. As you already have a base ideological liberal following, it is not that audience that will bring you success. It's that huge majority in the middle between the left and the right, and first and foremost they want to be "entertained." If you just read what AGR publishers in monotone, you will not entertain anyone regardless of serious and painful your format is. Find two interesting satirical commentators who can discuss what they are reading in an entertaining way. Unless your audience is "masochistic," which I doubt, you will share Air America's fate. Remember, the content is only a part of it, it's the presentation that will keep your audience tuned in. Bert Bass Asheville, NC
