The (hopefully) 'Lucky Seven' AGR Spring Fund Drive

Seven years. Lucky seven. That is how long we here at the Asheville Global Report have been bringing you award-winning coverage of news that Adm. Poindexter would rather you didn't hear or think about. Every week our volunteers and staff manage to find the time to collect the stories, put them together and distribute them to you, our readers. We put in over 200 hours per week to produce the AGR. We are always looking for ways to improve the paper internally as well as externally. In the beginning of this year we made ourselves a list of goals. We are happy to say that we have already achieved some of them, such as creating a new website and writing more original pieces. We are excited about the possibilities before us this year. We feel that this could be our year, lucky seven. But we have a long way to go and we cannot do it without your help. We need our readers and supporters to help us meet the AGR's financial needs. We need you to contribute what you can to ensure that we can continue publishing. Every little bit helps, whether it is five dollars or five hundred. And if you are not in a position to help us out financially, we can always use your help doing one of the many jobs that we never seem to have quite enough time to get done. Many of us feel that the current state of affairs in the world demands the need for news outlets such as the AGR. For those of you who cannot watch FOX "news" with a straight face or resent having your sons, daughters and neighbors being sent to fight a war under the pretext of lies and deception, we do our best to find the truth and bring it to you. We hope to provide you with information that will help you go out and articulate your arguments for change. The corporate media continues to blur the line between entertainment, information and propaganda. We intend to keep it clear. Help us keep bringing issues and stories to the public that our beloved Connecticut born and raised Texan, George, would rather see lost in a swarm of incoherent phrases and folksy mumbling. We cannot continue without you. We will do our best and continue to tirelessly donate our time and ideas to the AGR, but we need help. Our staff and volunteers are made up almost entirely from the ranks of the working poor. With your help we have given what we could over the years and have done our best to publish a newspaper we can all be proud of. We would never have made it seven years if you hadn't been there supporting us and letting us know that you wanted us to keep going. Please help us continue to play a positive roll in making the world a safer, saner, better place. Please help us make sure this is lucky seven and not craps. Thank you.
