The truth shall set you free

Editors, Asheville Global Report, [Re: "AGR: Misguided Pinko hippies," Stephen Edwards, Issue #419] Oh Lord, what on earth will it take to educate the ignorant? First of all, how did the AGR get tied with [the] ridiculous epithet of "Stalinist?" Freedom of the press and the right to assemble for social change are two of the most fundamental tenets of what it means to be a freedom-loving American. Since when has the mission of reporting underreported news in order to better inform our citizens of what their government is doing around the globe a "communist" activity? This guy is CLUELESS. He is emblematic of what is wrong with over half of America. But it isn't his fault. It's the sorry air that he breathes, courtesy of the corporate media. If to give a damn about the misinformed/disinformed people of the United States is unpatriotic, then all is lost. But, if it is not an act of treason to rally the people to the injustices committed on a daily basis by those vampire servants of big business who continue to gangbang lady liberty in the process of robbing the American taxpayers blind to feed the insatiable greed of their overlords in the oil and bomb business, then the AGR is a vaccine. For there is a virus attacking the frame of our Constitution. Like a cancer, it is eating all that is good about American identity from the inside out. Stephen, if you must remain an ignorant little lamb, go back to grazing on the corporation's narrow editorialized reportage spilling from the likes of CNN. Or you might get wise and pick up a copy of the true freedom-lover's newspaper–the AGR. "The truth shall set you free." Stephen Edwards would probably seek to deride even the anti-materialist words of the late great Dr. King as "communist".… "We must rapidly begin the shift from a THING-oriented society to a PERSON-oriented society. When machines and computers, profit motives and property rights are considered more important than people, the giant triplets of racism, militarism, and economic exploitation are incapable of being conquered. A nation can flounder as readily in the face of moral and spiritual bankruptcy as it can through financial bankruptcy."–Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. David Connor Jones Asheville, NC
